As a Supervisor, you will work closely with the PFI Project Manager, Commercial and Sales Engineers, and Clerical Team to drive performance and efficiency. In this role, you'll support and monitor the industrial team, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are consistently met. You'll also apply your expertise under the Highway Lighting Industry Registration Scheme to deliver high standards across all projects.
Key responsibilities- Provide direct supervision for all types of work including jointing and standby, ensuring it is completed in accordance with set down procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours as required, including safety, quality, and environmental risk assessments.
- Ensure risk assessment and safety procedures are implemented. Undertake safety briefings, communicate safety information to your team ensuring that safety awareness remains a high priority. Address and deal with nonâcompliance in line with company procedure.
- Work closely with the PFI Project Manager, Commercial/Sales Engineers and Clerical Team to proactively implement procedures and initiatives to improve the performance of the depot.
- Work closely with the engineers and support teams to ensure that work is programmed efficiently to meet the requirements of the PFI contract.
- Maintain and improve productivity levels on a jobâbyâjob basis, ensuring work is completed on time and to the customer's satisfaction. Deal with performance issues as identified.
- Implement cost effective procedures for materials delivery, stock control and use.
- A strong electrical background, with working knowledge of electrical maintenance and jointing activities, or comparable utility experience.
- Experience of managing and supervising operational staff within a fieldâbased or operational environment.
- A broad understanding of Highway Lighting practices and procedures.
- Proven experience and technical credibility to effectively manage Electricians and Jointers.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Vixen.
- A thorough understanding of safety management, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Commercial awareness and experience of operating within a contractâbased environment.
- Keyboard skills, proficient in the use of standard software packages, also internal packages following training.
- G39 or HEA Qualification.
- Authorising Officer Accreditation.
