The role is a Job Share for 3 days a week. npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £6 billion revenue business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK. Generation Services is a key growth area within the I&C Pillar, providing a route to market for independent generators to sell their generated electricity and environmental certificates. Generation Services contributes c25% of the overall I&C EBITA with growth plans of c20% per annum as this market space is set for significant growth in line with UK net zero target.
You will be responsible for the timely and accurate production and distribution of monthly power statements (and invoice backing data) to external Generation Services customers. Responsibilities include:
- Timely and accurate production and distribution of monthly power statements (and invoice backing data) to external Generation Services customers.
- Prepare and issue electricity monthly statements (or invoices) to sites with new and existing products.
- Analyse product structures and develop procedures to calculate statement & invoice values.
- Provide analytical capability to assess risk of settlement processes.
- Understand and interpret complex electricity contracts and products.
- Manage the processing and reporting of ROCs, REGOs and GoOs.
- Develop strong working relationships with the customers for whom they are responsible.
- Raise and resolve queries arising from data analysis and contract interpretation to reach a satisfactory conclusion for both internal npower stakeholders and external customers.
- Support, liaise and agree SLAs with other parts of the npower for resolution of issues.
- Download, analyse and validate metered data input into the settlements process.
- Resolve metered data issues and disputes by liaising with npower data validation teams.
- Work to reduce the aged debt position managed by Generation Services.
- Ensure that processes are tested to produce accurate and timely invoices delivering improvement to existing processes for current gas and electricity products.
- Document all processes following development or introduction of new products.
What we need from you:
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent with good commercial awareness and strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
- Experience in a commercial/analytical role in the utilities industry.
- Advanced level of numeracy, commercial judgement & analytical skills.
- Rational and analytical approach to data manipulation.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex numeric problems.
- Good modelling skills, preferably in MS Excel/Access and VBA.
- Results orientated, able to meet tight deadlines in a high pressure environment with conflicting priorities while delivering clear and concise reports to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to develop new processes for the calculation of settlement and invoicing of new Generation Services products.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a good team player.
- Flexible and forward thinking.
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new concepts and activities.
