Generation Services is a key growth area within the I&C Pillar, providing a route to market for independent generators to sell their generated electricity and environmental certificates.
Generation Services contributes 25% of the overall I&C EBITDA with growth plans of c20% per annum as this market space is set for significant growth in line with UK net zero target.
Responsibilities
Responsible for timely, accurate pricing ensuring the application of accurate known and forecasted volumes, costs, and contract margin expectation: Provide timely and accurate new business and renewals pricing for all export customers.
This requires a deep understanding of the volume forecasting techniques.
A deep knowledge of our models is needed to deliver an accurate price for the appropriate product.
Test and develop new system/ processes that will be used for volume forecasting and pricing application to ensure that for all pricing scenarios are considered to ensure the system is fit for purpose, ensuring accuracy for every scenario that would be encountered.
Maintain cost reflective costing and pricing models to ensure pricing assumptions are up to date.
Support operations and sales departments through query management and process support.
This will help ensure we deliver a right quote on time and eliminate re-pricing activity.
Development of new pricing processes to enhance business productivity and performance.
Communicate risks and issues to management through weekly and monthly KPI reports e. g.
Time to price vs SLA, % re-priced, and pricing accuracy achieved.
Document all processes following development and/or the introduction of new products.

Requirements
- Of graduate calibre with technical or vocational qualifications and experience to match the needs of the role. e. g. Mathematics, Business Studies, Finance etc.
- Experience in a commercial/analytical role in the utilities industry.
- Advanced level of numeracy, commercial judgement & analytical skills, with an ability to analyse and interpret complex, multiple sources of data.
- An understanding of the UK Energy Market including wholesale, retail, renewables, distribution, conservation and generation market spaces.
- Rational and analytical approach to data optimisation.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex numeric problems.
- Ability to develop new processes for the pricing & contract management of new products.
- Good modelling skills, preferably in MS Excel/Access and VBA.
- Results orientated, able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while delivering clear and concise reports to GS management team and key stakeholders.
- Can demonstrate the ability to be a good team player.
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
