We're looking for an experienced Column Erector to join our PFI team, based in the Oldham and Rochdale area. In this role, you'll carry out a range of general duties, including excavation work associated with LV service jointing, as well as the erection and removal of columns, signs and bollards and work on associated cable networks. You'll also support E.ON Utility Solutions with driving, deliveries and general yard duties.
- The removal or decommissioning of assets as required.
- Work in connection with the installation and decommissioning of ALL associated street lighting equipment and EV connections.
- Driving general company vehicles including HGV.
- Operating lorry mounted crane.
- Excavation work for joint holes, columns, sign and bollard installations and associated cable runs.
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role
- Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives
- Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures
- Complying with operational working practices and associated risk assessments
- Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities
- Mentoring young and vulnerable persons on site
- Ensuring PPE is always worn
- A current NRSWA qualification LA 01, 02 to 05 and 08
- Up to date UK HGV Class II Driving Licence
- NVQ level 2 Highways Electrical Work
- CPCS Lorry Loader or equivalent
- A high degree of manual dexterity
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours when required by the business
- Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately
- Confidence to work independently using own initiative, as well as contributing effectively within a team
- Effective communication skills and a polite, courteous approach when interacting with members of the public.
It would be great if you had
- Recognised HERS e-portfolio
- An appropriate G39, HESA 210 and 214 safe isolation qualification
- CSCS accreditation via the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS)
