We're looking for Street Lighting / Power Engineering Cable Jointer Apprentices to join our Lighting & Grid team as part of our UK Energy Infrastructure Solutions business. This 4‑year apprenticeship will see you earn Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications while gaining hands‑on experience across the power engineering industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Install and maintain street lighting and power distribution equipment.
  • Perform cable jointing tasks for underground power networks.
  • Work across public highways, construction sites and depot environments.
  • Attend block‑release training programmes to gain formal qualifications.
  • Learn plant operation, live electrical connections and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs A‑C (or equivalent), including Maths, English and Science.
  • Interest in engineering demonstrated through work placements, studies, hobbies or projects.
  • Passion for safety and PPE requirements.
  • Team‑oriented and capable of working independently when required.
  • Must be 18 or older and meet school‑leaving requirements.
