E.ON UK Network Assets Limited is a new E.ON business that will operate as a licensed (IDNO) Independent Distribution Network Operator. The business aims to secure a sizable market share and be a leader in the connections market space. You will join the project team responsible for developing and managing the technical functions of the IDNO business. You will lead a team providing operational support and monitoring key performance indicators aligned with business needs.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- Leading the Technical Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain technical processes and procedures for asset adoption and network operations, ensuring compliance with Ofgem regulations and industry standards.
- Shaping Network Standards: Define and oversee the IDNO’s G81 design standards, EHV and 132kV specifications, and construction processes to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Driving Excellence in Network Design: Lead the design function, working closely with ICPs, DNOs, and stakeholders to meet performance standards.
- Collaboration with Industry Partners: Build relationships with ICPs, developers, consultants, and industry partners to ensure seamless network integration and efficient design approvals.
- Industry Representation: Represent E.ON UK Network Assets Limited on relevant industry forums and participate in shaping the future of IDNOs and energy distribution.
- Operational Procedures: Work with the IDNO leadership team to develop robust standard operating procedures ensuring safe and efficient business operations.
What we need from you
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification with relevant experience.
- Experience in power network design across 11kV to 132kV networks.
- Strong understanding of technical and regulatory standards for network design, construction, and operation.
- Experience with network modelling and design software (e.g., WinDEBUT, VisNet Design, IPSA, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Knowledge of health & safety laws applicable to electricity distribution.
- Ability to engage with ICPs, DNOs, and developers for smooth project execution.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing role.
- It would be great if you have Chartered Engineer status.
