Base location – Solihull or Nottingham with regular travel to other E.ON sites within the UK as an essential part of the role. Salary – £61,601 – £74,963 plus excellent employee benefits and career progression.
We are looking for a Building Services Manager who will be responsible for ensuring high‑performing and cost‑efficient building services are delivered through our external Total Facilities Management (TFM) provider, whilst adhering to all legal, compliance and safe working practices.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and operational management in the overall delivery of building services, working closely with senior stakeholders throughout the business and the outsourced TFM provider.
- Ensure the outsourced TFM provider and other third‑party service providers deliver efficient, compliant, cost‑effective and professional building services that meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Influence the development and delivery of the TFM contract covering all building services categories through operational reviews.
- Ensure KPIs are in place and suppliers deliver against E.ON’s needs.
- Control third‑party service provider costs, challenge on cost and seek alternative solutions.
- Support decisions on which site service suppliers should be awarded contracts, following appropriate procurement processes.
- Responsible for all aspects of building compliance and legislation (e.g. asbestos, legionella, fire, electrical safety).
- Maintain building performance and compliance to uphold asset quality and safety standards.
- Develop and deliver a programme of compliance audits across all sites, tracking actions and monitoring progress.
- Develop and deliver building management operational processes, keep documentation up‑to‑date and maintain reporting methods consistent with E.ON policies and external standards.
- Consider sustainability in all works delivered, not just focusing on cost.
- Serve as the single interface between business stakeholders and the TFM provider.
- Work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure the site supports their facilities management needs and handle escalations with the TFM services or complex/non‑standard requirements.
- Support the business in delivering objectives, projects and ways of working, ensuring sites are a great place to work.
- Own site forum relationships and drive discussions and decisions with building management expertise.
- Provide operational support to the CREM Property and Projects Team on site project delivery.
- Manage operational accidents and near‑hit investigations with the outsourced service provider and act to prevent recurrence.
- Play a lead role in business continuity, providing out‑of‑hours availability to support and manage operational incidents that may trigger business continuity arrangements or site disaster recovery plans.
- Create an environment that promotes continuous improvement and implementation of best practice.
- Challenge current ways of working, review and champion simplification and digitalisation opportunities.
- Promote knowledge sharing throughout CREM, BR and the wider organisation to improve awareness of the building site services offering.
Primary responsibility for allocated sites, with support for the sites of other BSMs when necessary.
Qualifications- Degree level or equivalent in a discipline relevant to facilities management.
- Minimum 3 years proven leadership experience in operational building services across multiple sites in a fast‑changing business environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance related to facilities management.
- Experience in developing facilities management strategy, influencing stakeholders and translating strategy into operational delivery.
- Ability to work independently, delivering required outcomes and working collaboratively within a BSM team to achieve consistency.
- Proven contract management and supplier development skills.

- Ability to initiate and execute change.
