We're currently looking for an installation operative to join our Utility Solutions business. Working within this role you'll play a key part in supporting our Joiners and Supervisors with the installation and maintenance of street lighting columns and signs. This includes providing joint holes, planting of lighting columns within the ground as well as removal all via operation of crane hoist.
Other key responsibilities:
- Driving general and specialist company vehicles appropriate to the role.
- Carry out risk assessments on site and maintain safe working practices.
- Completion of work to the correct specification and efficient use of materials.
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role.
- Maintain and develop competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards.
- Attend training as required to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures.
- Work unsocial hours when required.
What we need from you:
- An understanding of highways lighting business and a general appreciation of the distribution network.
- Have a good understanding of traffic management and experience of working on the highways.
- A current full UK class 2 driving license.
- A high degree of manual dexterity and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A good working knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- A CSCS accreditation via the highways electrical registration scheme (HERS).
- A current NRSWA qualification (units 1-9).
- The ability to understand operational and 1:500 electrical network diagrams.
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- A current and relevant first aid and manual handling certificate.
- HIAB Crane operator ticket and experience in operation.
