Salary: £45,636-£57,937
Location: Basildon, involving travel across sites when required.
We\'re looking for a Stock Controller to manage stock and spares efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively across our District Heating operations. You\'ll be primarily responsible for our Combined Heat and Power (CHP) fleet while supporting energy centre spare parts. This role includes overseeing inventory systems, procurement, stock tracking, alignment with maintenance, and financial reconciliation.
Responsibilities
- Lead on a refresh of CHP and energy centre stock control processes
- Responsible for purchasing spare parts, with a primary focus on the CHP fleet
- Maintain accurate inventory of critical CHP spares (Jenbacher, MWM, Perkins, MAN)
- Maintain inventory of energy centre and network spares in line with maintenance
- Oversee stock levels to support planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Process purchase orders and invoices in SAP
- Ensure traceability of parts from procurement to installation (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics)
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to forecast demand
- Assist in the requisition process for new and existing stock across all sites
- Support management of the warehouse facility: goods in/out, facilities management
- Manage stock adjustments, issues, and returns against designated budgets
- Conduct gap analysis on current inventory and identify critical spares
- Ensure compliance with Inventory Management policies (CMIs and CEMS)
- Promote a positive safety culture and support H&S objectives across the team
- Assist with identification and procurement of critical spares working alongside engineering teams.
What we need from you
- Proven experience in stock management.
- Forklift Licence and a full clean UK driving licence.
- An in-depth knowledge of CHP engine spare parts, specifically for Jenbacher, MWM, Perkins, MTU and MAN.
- Planning and organising skills to include effective prioritising, time management and attention to detail.
- The confidence to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative solutions to problems.
- Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with EON staff and contractors.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce / present it in a clear and logical format.
- A working knowledge of PC based computer systems especially Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt quickly to changes to those systems.
