We are currently looking for SMART Meter Engineer Support Agents with electricity & gas meter experience to join our growing Field Debt Solutions team. Here, you'll play an important role in helping our customers resolve their debts. You will work with our customers to support them with future payments, install PAYG meters where it's the best option, and help them find ways to reduce energy consumption.

We will provide all necessary equipment: smartphone, tablet, tools, uniform, vehicle, and fuel card. We will train you to install SMART meters in the E.ON way and to offer the appropriate payment options to our customers. After training, you can earn extra through our achievable reward scheme, which rewards you based on delivering excellent customer outcomes.

With no fixed shifts, you can balance your work around your life, as long as you meet your weekly hours. Optional overtime is available to increase your earnings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering excellent service to our customers by understanding their circumstances and helping them agree on appropriate solutions to resolve their debt.
  • Planning efficient routes to reduce carbon footprint.
  • Carrying out investigations, collating evidence, and obtaining information.
  • Identifying new tenants through face-to-face discussions, letting agents, and neighbours, while complying with DPA (Data Protection Act).
  • Exchanging meters to SMART Pay as You Go or Classic Prepayment.
  • Leading warrant teams to force entry to customer premises for meter exchange/disconnection where necessary.
  • Recording job information using paperwork or electronic equipment.
  • Reporting health & safety risks or customer vulnerability.

What we need from you:

  • A full valid UK/EU driving licence (preferably clean, with a maximum of 6 points).
  • MOCOPA/CMA1/MET2 certifications.
  • SMART Meter & Dual Fuel training.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Willing to travel and live within the area.
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Here's what else you need to know:

The salary for this role is up to GBP43,791, including a base salary of GBP39,451, location allowance, revenue protection work (added after training), gas metering skill allowance, and an on-target reward scheme with potential earnings up to GBP4,800 for high performance. This is a permanent role.
