We are seeking a talented Digital UX Researcher (Web & App) to join our Digital Go-To-Market Next. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in London with hybrid working, reporting to the Product Design Lead. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our digital experiences, ensuring every design decision is informed by rich, user-centred insights. This role is perfect for a midweight to senior researcher who thrives in fast-moving, start-up-like environments. We’re looking for someone self-motivated, hands-on and adaptable, with the ability to turn user research into actionable insights that directly influence product design and strategy.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • Plan, execute and iterate UX research across web and app platforms, using qualitative and quantitative methods such as interviews, usability studies, surveys, contextual inquiries and A/B tests.
  • Analyse research data and synthesise findings into actionable insights that inform product and design decisions.
  • Facilitate user testing sessions, in-depth interviews and internal workshops to deeply understand user needs and behaviours.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers and engineers to integrate research findings seamlessly into product development.
  • Maintain and refine user personas, journey maps and other research artefacts to guide design strategy.
  • Contribute to prototyping efforts, applying research insights to improve UX and UI experiences.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and emerging UX practices to inform research approaches and recommendations.
  • Engage in agile/scrum processes, providing timely research inputs and updates to guide product development.

Are we the perfect match?

  • Proven experience in UX research, ideally in fast-paced or start-up environments.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage end-to-end research projects independently.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing actionable insights and impactful recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to present research findings to stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, complemented by hands-on experience.
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and balancing competing priorities.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience in utility, service-based, or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools.
  • Experience contributing to product strategy and design workshops.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Confidence in working with prototyping tools and integrating research into iterative design processes.

Here’s what else you need to know:

  • Role may close earlier due to high applications.
  • Fixed term contract length - 12 months.
  • Location – London E.ON Next, 47-53 Charterhouse Street, Farringdon, London, EC1M 6PB - with travel to our other sites when required.
  • Excellent parental leave allowance.
  • Award-Winning Workplace - We’re proud to be named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2025 and the Best Place to Work for 16–34-year-olds.
  • Outstanding Benefits - Enjoy 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a generous pension, life cover, bonus opportunities and access to 20 flexible benefits with tax/NI savings.
