This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to shape how customers adopt and benefit from connected energy solutions including electric vehicles, solar & battery, heat technologies, and smart energy management. You’ll play a critical role in delivering integrated whole-home solutions that combine technology, flexibility, customer experience, and commercial value to support the transition to net zero.

As a senior leader within E.ON Next, you will champion innovation, collaboration, and customer‑centric thinking across the connected energy portfolio. You will work cross‑functionally across commercial, technology, digital, operations, and go‑to‑market teams to ensure propositions are scalable, compelling, and deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for residential connected energy propositions including EV, solar & battery, and heat solutions.
    • Champion the development of integrated whole‑home solutions, ensuring propositions work together seamlessly through smart tariffs, connected devices, and customer experience.
    • Lead, inspire, and develop high‑performing proposition and connected assets teams, fostering a culture of openness, collaboration, and innovation.
    • Challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement across products, processes, and customer outcomes.
    • Oversee the full portfolio of connected energy propositions, ensuring consistency across tariffs, hardware, digital journeys, and services.
    • Drive integration of EV, solar, battery, and heat propositions into bundled customer solutions that maximise value, flexibility, and smart energy optimisation.
    • Ensure seamless customer journeys across sales, installation, digital platforms, and in‑life support.
    • Build propositions that support smarter and more flexible energy usage across the home.
  • Commercial & Go‑To‑Market Delivery
    • Deliver adoption, growth, retention, and margin targets across connected energy propositions.
    • Lead proposition development from concept through to launch and scale, ensuring strong commercial performance and customer value.
    • Partner closely with go‑to‑market teams to successfully bring new propositions and services to market.
    • Balance customer affordability, regulatory compliance, operational feasibility, and commercial sustainability.
    • Champion customer insight and data‑led decision making to shape proposition development and customer experience.
    • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and evolving customer behaviours to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
    • Ensure products and services are simple, trusted, and intuitive for customers adopting low‑carbon technologies.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
    • Work collaboratively across teams including Partnerships, Operations, Technology, Digital, Data, and Commercial functions.
    • Build strong relationships with OEMs, technology providers, and delivery partners to support growth and innovation.
    • Represent the connected energy portfolio at senior leadership level, influencing strategic decisions and investment priorities.
    • Operate effectively within a hybrid environment, collaborating across teams and locations including London, Solihull, and Nottingham.

Are we the perfect match?

  • Significant senior leadership experience within the energy sector, utilities, or consumer technology environments.
  • Strong awareness and understanding of the UK energy market, customer trends, and regulatory landscape.
  • Knowledge of residential decarbonisation technologies including EVs, solar, batteries, heat pumps, and smart home energy solutions.
  • Understanding of the value and role of flexibility and smart energy usage within the evolving energy system.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering commercially successful propositions and bringing products/services to market.
  • Strong commercial and go‑to‑market skill set, with the ability to balance customer outcomes, profitability, and strategic growth.
