At E.ON Next, we’re transforming the energy industry through technology. We’re looking for a Frontend Engineering Manager to lead and nurture a talented frontend team, delivering high-quality, user-focused digital experiences. You’ll guide your team, contribute hands-on across React, TypeScript and React Native, and help shape the strategic direction of our frontend platforms. There are also opportunities to work with generative AI and machine learning to enhance customer and developer workflows.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and inspire a team of frontend engineers, fostering growth and collaboration
  • Shape frontend strategy and ensure delivery excellence
  • Mentor engineers, providing guidance while encouraging autonomy
  • Contribute hands-on to code, architecture and complex challenges
  • Explore and integrate innovative technologies, including AI/LLMs

Essential skills & experience:

  • Proven leadership in engineering teams (must-have)
  • Strong hands-on experience in React, TypeScript (must-have)
  • Experience with React Native or mobile development
  • Agile and DevOps experience
  • 8–10 years in similar roles, confident in project leadership and mentoring
  • AI/ML or LLM integration experience
  • Python, Terraform, microservices, serverless exposure

Other info:

  • London-based, 1 day in office per week (Wed/Thu), occasional travel to Nottingham
  • No direct reports initially, but clear pathway to grow your team
  • Core stack: React, React Native, TypeScript, Python, Terraform
