We are looking for an experienced Brand Planner to strengthen our UK consumer-brand portfolio by working closely with the in-house insight, creative, media and proposition teams. In this role, you will be taking ownership of brand metrics health, by ensuring consistency of how the brand shows up across the products we launch and in through-the-line campaigns. You will translate commercial goals into actionable brand and marketing strategy, shaping audience targeting, messaging, channel and communication approaches. You will be the first port of call for defining how to package propositions. Your customer and competitor understanding will drive you to proactively identify opportunity areas, and to support the development of compelling and differentiated brand narratives.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
- Brand & Marketing Strategy Development: Define and evolve brand positioning to align with business goals, address customer needs, and maximise differentiation in-market. Collaborate closely with the insights and media teams to develop robust brand measurement frameworks to attribute the impact of marketing activity on key brand metrics.
- Brand Health Stewardship: Proactively identify areas of opportunity to strengthen brand metrics through always-on reflection of customer and market trends. Partner with cross-functional marketing teams to implement targeted initiatives—from refined messaging to campaign activity—that drive measurable improvements in brand performance.
- Brand Manifestation Guardianship: Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to ensure campaigns are grounded in customer insight and deliver a consistent brand narrative. Help ensure outputs reinforce our positioning and contribute to long-term brand equity and distinctiveness.
- Proposition Marketing Strategy: Work in close partnership with proposition teams to define how new propositions should be packaged and brought to market to maximise customer relevance and brand differentiation. Develop targeting, communication, and messaging strategy at proof-of-concept stage and work with implementation teams to monitor and assess potential before ramp-up.
Proven experience developing and evolving brand marketing strategy, including brand positioning, architecture, and messaging frameworks. Strong understanding of brand measurement tools and methodologies, with a track record of linking brand activity to key business and brand health metrics. Knowledge of how to leverage media channels effectively to build brand equity, across owned, earned, and paid channels. Demonstrated ability to analyse consumer, competitor, and market trends to uncover strategic brand opportunities and inform decision-making. Experience working cross-functionally to deliver integrated brand activations. Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to navigate complex organisational structures and drive consensus. Ability to manage and maintain brand consistency across multiple touchpoints, ensuring alignment with brand values and tone of voice. Skilled in translating propositions into compelling consumer-facing packages, including clear targeting, messaging, and channel marketing strategy. Background in working alongside proposition development teams to maximise brand appeal. Comfortable balancing long-term brand building with short-term performance goals in a fast-moving environment. Experience in regulated or complex sectors such as energy is a bonus.
