We\’re looking for a Metering Assurance Manager to join our Data & Metering Services team on a 15 month secondment.

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £6 billion revenue business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.
We are looking for a Metering Assurance Manager to join our Data & Metering team on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is a key external-facing role, responsible for overseeing four teams that monitor and assess the performance of both our suppliers and our organisation in relation to regulatory expectations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the UK energy industry, combined with proven contract management expertise and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse settlement data and investigate issues (e.g. D95s, erroneous EACs) to ensure a seamless and accurate settlement process.
- Manage settlement regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory measures and license conditions.
- Develop and maintain data quality frameworks, ensuring third-party providers adhere to accuracy standards.
- Lead complex analytical processes across multiple business functions to optimise revenue and resolve variances.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and SLAs, ensuring timely, accurate service delivery.
- Negotiate and manage contracts and service-level agreements with external suppliers.
- Represent the organisation in industry forums, deliver regulatory mandates, and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
What we need from you
- In-depth knowledge of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and operational processes such as billing and settlements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data to drive financial and service performance.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing outsourced contracts and supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-functional teams, with strong coaching and change management capabilities.
- Financial acumen, including budget planning and cost control.
- Creative problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and resolving challenges.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
