We are currently recruiting for an Engineering & Service Manager to join the Digital Technology & Change Leadership Team in our Solihull office on a hybrid basis. As an Engineering & Service Manager at nPower Business Solutions (nBS), you will have the opportunity to shape and enhance our Product led DevOps model. Your role will involve overseeing the delivery of top-notch IT engineering and operational services, ensuring seamless product development, deployment, and IT Service. We are currently undergoing a transition and actively seeking individuals who can support us during this period. These leadership positions will play a crucial role in shaping our new operating model, which is focused on adopting a product-oriented approach.
nPower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON Industrial and Commercial (I&C) sector of EON, a leading entity in the energy retail industry. With a revenue of £7 billion, nBS serves around 30,000 customers and 250,000 meter points, aspiring to become the top B2B energy supplier in the UK.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Lead engineering and service management functions in alignment with organizational goals and product strategies.
- A member of the Digital Technology & Change Senior Leadership Team.
- Drive DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and integration of new technologies.
- Manage infrastructure services for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with IT Product Leads to align engineering and service delivery with product goals.
- Accountable for the delivery of operational services, including incident management, problem resolution and SLA adherence.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering and service performance, driving continuous improvement.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and service managers.
What we need from you:
- Proven experience leading engineering and operational teams in complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, IT service management frameworks, and operational excellence.
- Expertise in managing infrastructure and external partners to maintain service quality.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with an analytical mindset.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and scaling across multiple product teams.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerisation tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with integration platforms, API management tools, and hybrid environments.
- Certifications in ITIL, DevOps Leaders, AWS Certified, or related fields are a plus.
