School Psychologist
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Position (Temporary for School Year)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of our students. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, lead eligibility determinations, facilitate multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), and partner closely with teachers, families, and administrators to foster safe, inclusive learning environments across the district.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations: Administer, score, and interpret psychoeducational assessments to determine student eligibility for special education and related services under IDEA and state guidelines.

IEP & Multidisciplinary Team Leadership: Present evaluation results at IEP and eligibility meetings in clear, accessible language for families and school staff; collaborate on the development of individualized goals and accommodations.

Consultation & Behavioral Support: Partner with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and BCBAs to design and monitor academic interventions, behavioral support plans, and classroom management strategies.

Crisis Intervention & Counseling: Provide short-term individual and group counseling, crisis de-escalation, and mental health support for students in need.

Data-Driven Problem Solving: Active participation in school-based MTSS/RTI teams to analyze district-wide academic and behavioral data and guide early intervention efforts.

Compliance & Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student records in full compliance with state and federal special education mandates.
Qualifications & Requirements
Professional Certification & Credentials:

Valid Delaware Department of Education Certification as a School Psychologist (or eligible for Delaware certification via NCSP/out-of-state reciprocity).

Specialist-level degree or higher (Master’s/Ed.S./Ph.D.) in School Psychology from an accredited program.

Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential preferred.
Mandatory District Clearances:

Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Clearance.

Current Tuberculin (TB) Test and Physical Clearance.

Mandatory Direct Deposit setup.
Core Knowledge & Skills:

Strong expertise in psychoeducational testing battery tools, diagnostic criteria, and IDEA regulations.

Outstanding communication, consultation, and collaborative problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in special education data systems, IEP software, and progress monitoring frameworks.
