With over 20 years experience in the food manufacturing industry, we deliver to over 2000 delivery points for the food industry sector every week. Role Purpose Statement
We have an exciting opportunity to join our transport planning team in our busy Corby office. The Transport Planner will plan work from both the main office and Customers own premises. No one day will be the same as you will plan for a variety of different customers nationwide.
Main Responsibilities:
- Planning a variety of consignments in the most efficient way.
- Building loads on the Transport Management System.
- Deploying runs to a Transport Plan.
- Arranging back loads and collections.
- Subcontracting work as required and managing contractor relationships.
- Offering the highest level of customer service, both internal and external.
- Managing and liaising with drivers to meet the customers expectations.
About You:
- Previous experience of planning a multi-customer, multi-drop, groupage operation would be advantageous.
- The successful candidate will be skilled in route planning and have excellent UK geographical knowledge.
- Will have the ability to be accurate and proactively resolve any delivery issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with their own initiative alongside being part of a team.
- You will be competent in all traffic office functions.
- Understanding of EU Tachograph / RTD / Vehicle weights & measures legislation.
Shifts: The shifts are on a rotating basis 08.00 - 16.30 and 10.30 - 19.00.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £32,000-£35,000 per year
