A Taste of What You'll Do
Are you passionate about wine and interested in learning more about the winemaking process? The Livingston Pilot Winery is seeking a seasonal assistant to support our mission of driving innovation in the wine industry by pushing the boundaries of winemaking techniques and technologies. As a member of our team, you'll work closely with the Pilot Winery staff and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of winemaking. You will be involved with all tasks involved in the production of research wines. This includes but is not limited to:
- Fermenting and pressing grapes
- Operating machinery and equipment
- Cleaning and sanitising equipment
- Sampling juice, fermenters, and wine tanks, and making ingredient additions at the direction of the Winemaker
This is a seasonal position, with employment running approximately June-November. The hours and schedule will vary depending on the workload, but tends to fall around 50-60 hours per week during the peak, including weekends when necessary. A willingness to work in an outdoor environment, at elevated heights and to comply with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations is essential.
What You'll Need
- Required to be 21 years of age or older.
- Required to work overtime if necessary.
- Required to work a rotating shift or any scheduled (day, swing or graveyard).
- Required to work 8 - 12 hours per day.
- Required to climb ladders; climb to extreme heights.
- Required to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire.
- This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving.
- If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to understand, read and write the English language.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
- Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Required to comply with company GMP Policies.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The Fine Print
The Company does not sponsor for employment-based visas for this position now or in the future. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable. This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
