HGV Fitter
Location: Stanley, County Durham
Job Type: Full-time, Part Time Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Fitter to join our team in Stanley, County Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fitter who takes pride in their work and is looking for a stable, long-term position with a busy and established company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of HGV vehicles, ensuring they are kept safe, compliant and in excellent working order.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
- Carry out brake, suspension, steering and general mechanical repairs
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and safety inspections
- Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with safety requirements
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
- Work both independently and as part of the wider team
What Were Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in HGV maintenance and repair
- Mechanically skilled with strong fault-finding ability
- Reliable, hardworking and professional
- Able to work independently and use their own initiative
- Committed to high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety
Relevant HGV or mechanical qualifications would be advantageous, although solid practical experience is equally important.
A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would also be beneficial but is not essential.
