Join a diverse and collaborative team of technologists in the Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) who are responsible for the research and development of applied analytical solutions for BlackRock. PAG leverages the Aladdin technology stack, risk & performance models, and data to build solutions addressing specific business problems – problems that require data‑driven insights for decision making. This group is part of the Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) division which owns Aladdin’s financial models and the resulting analytics used by portfolio and risk management professionals both within and outside BlackRock. Given the diversity of business objectives within BlackRock and across the external Aladdin client community, the models developed and supported by AFE span a wide array of financial products (equities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives, and private markets).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed advanced analytics directly into business workflows and decision making.
  • Design, build and support new analytical capabilities with partner teams to meet emerging requirements and unlock new opportunities.
  • Develop deep expertise in Aladdin analytical capabilities and AFE financial models.
  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and engineers across AFE to deliver scalable, innovative, high impact solutions.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with partner teams to drive execution from idea generation through delivery.
  • Communicate insights and solutions clearly and compellingly through meetings, presentations and written materials.
  • Apply strong project management and communication skills across initiatives – setting direction, driving momentum, coordinating execution and providing clear, timely updates to partners.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a highly analytical role within financial services.
  • Strong critical thinker with a proven track record of using technology to deliver impactful analytical solutions.
  • Strong Python programming skills – including working knowledge of analytical libraries and of complex codebase.
  • Proficiency with software development process tools such as ADO, git etc.
  • Experience with SQL for managing and accessing data is a plus.
  • Proven success in contributing to cross‑functional, technical projects from idea to delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships across the business.
  • Strong communicator and collaborative team player, able to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Naturally curious and driven, with a deep interest in understanding how processes work and a creative approach to solving unconventional problems.
  • Continuous‑learning mindset with a strong desire to learn new skills, tools and technologies.
  • Self‑motivated and adaptable, able to work independently while thriving in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Prior experience with Aladdin is a plus. For the Private Markets role specifically, this includes eFront and Preqin.
