The role resides within Firm Risk Management's Credit Risk Management (CRM) area, evaluating credit risk transactions, managing Internal Credit Ratings, and establishing credit risk limits in line with risk tolerance. CRM monitors and reports exposures to the Chief Risk Officer and Firm Risk Management and interacts with business units to ensure risk considerations are included in business decisions.
This role covers Commercial Real Estate (CRE) transactions, secured and unsecured, including evaluating new transactions, managing a growing loan portfolio, and monitoring renewals and repayments.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for credit coverage of the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) CRE business, including lending secured by CRE properties across all property types.
- Partner with business unit members and interact with clients in due diligence meetings.
- Ensure timely review of new transactions, annual reviews of existing loans, maintain consistent high-quality documentation, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee the existing loan portfolio, driving analysis and reporting of risk profiles, industry trend developments, and concentrations.
- Present transactions to Firm approval committees, the Global Credit Risk Head of CRE, and the Global Credit Risk Head of Structured Products.
- Assist in the training and development of new Associate colleagues and Analysts as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar credit role.
- Experience in commercial real estate lending and credit underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of typical CRE transaction structures, documentation, and the lending process.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbal; track record of presenting CRE topics to senior management.
- Curiosity and self-motivation to develop expertise in commercial real estate products, markets, and risk management practice.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
- Fluency in English is required.
