I’m currently working with a client who is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in the technical design and delivery of a modern enterprise data platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building scalable data solutions while also setting engineering standards, mentoring teams, and driving best practices across the platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design and build scalable ingestion, transformation, and serving pipelines
  • Develop data models aligned to business domains across a Lakehouse environment
  • Work across medallion architecture patterns including Bronze, Silver & Gold layers
  • Implement SCD Type 2 and advanced data modelling techniques
  • Build production-grade solutions using Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Delta Lake & Unity Catalog
  • Drive data quality, testing, governance, and platform reliability
  • Lead code reviews, engineering standards, and technical mentorship within the squad
  • Optimise platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 6–10+ years in Data Engineering with technical leadership exposure
  • Strong SQL and large-scale ETL/ELT pipeline development experience
  • Deep hands-on Databricks expertise (Autoloader, DLT, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog)
  • Strong experience with Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture patterns
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, SCD handling, and canonical data models
  • Experience working with governed or regulated data environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication and mentoring capability
