We are seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) Designer to join a high-profile digital transformation programme supporting the delivery of critical public services. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on improving user journeys, accessibility, and service experiences for millions of users. The successful candidate will play a key role in understanding user needs, identifying pain points, and designing intuitive, user-centred solutions that deliver measurable improvements to digital services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse user needs, behaviours, and task flows to create effective and engaging user experiences.
  • Conduct user research and translate findings into actionable design recommendations.
  • Develop user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs.
  • Identify user pain points and design innovative solutions to improve usability and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, business analysts, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gather requirements and validate design concepts.
  • Contribute to design strategy and ensure user-centred design principles are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support and mentor colleagues by sharing UX best practices and design expertise.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of design solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of UX processes, standards, and methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in User Experience (UX) Design.
  • Experience conducting user research and translating insights into design solutions.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and service blueprints.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams.
  • Experience collaborating with developers, product owners, researchers, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance user needs and business objectives.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
  • Previous experience within government, public sector, or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Lean delivery methodologies.
