A Senior Care Assistant is a compassionate and skilled professional who supports residents with various daily activities, such as personal care, social interaction and personal interests. The Senior Care Assistant also ensures the safety and health of residents by completing documentation, administering medication, reviewing care plans and communicating with external professionals and families. The Senior Care Assistant contributes to the positive reputation of the Care Home as a provider of high-quality care and service. Education Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent Knowledge - An understanding of the challenge of and sensitivity needed to care and support vulnerable people An understanding of relevant current legislation, policies and regulations Skills Abilities Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with colleagues, medical professionals and a wide range of stakeholders Ability to: Work with people with limited communication and understand their needs Follow plans, routines and instructions and be flexible Use initiative appropriately and work independently with little direct supervision Prioritise and effectively manage workload
