We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to join Olley & Sons, a specialist timber importer based in Dartford.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take responsibility for the smooth, safe and efficient day-to-day running of our operations, overseeing our transport, yard and mill teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily operations across the yard, mill and transport functions
- Overseeing drivers, machinists and yard/picking staff
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments
- Overseeing vehicle, crane, machinery and extraction-system maintenance
- Ensuring appropriate daily equipment and vehicle checks are completed
- Monitoring workloads, lead times and late jobs and communicating effectively with the sales team
- Maintaining high standards of quality control and stock movement
- Supporting site security and the reporting of incidents or hazards
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and help drive the business forward
