Overview: Due to a severe skills shortage in the market, the UK government is supporting individuals to get fully funded training to start a career in cyber security. We will provide entry level training and employability support for individuals who are keen to start a career in this industry. All training and support is FULLY FUNDED by the government. The candidate does NOT need to have any prior experience since all the necessary training will be provided.

The training: All training is included and is funded by the UK Government. The training is delivered ONLINE, so you do not need to travel anywhere. The course runs full-time for 4 weeks, from 09:30 to 17:30, Monday to Fridays. The course starts on 4th Dec, 18th Dec 2023.

  • L2 TLM Accredited Certificate in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics - Learn the core principles of cybersecurity, networking, online threats and deploying security tools to defend an online system.
  • L2 in Cyber Security - Learn what cybercrime is and the methods that can be used to prevent it. The importance of codes of conduct within the industry and the legislation that applies to cybersecurity.
  • Certificate in Securing Employment L1 - Learners will take a deep dive into the activities, attitudes and research required for sustainable employment. You will learn how to identify suitable opportunities, produce a CV tailored towards the position and make applications that are likely to attract an employer’s attention. Strategies for succeeding at an interview are taught, including taking part in mock interviews. Learners will also gain an understanding of the behaviours and standards required at work.

Eligibility: Aged 19 or over. You must be eligible to live and work in the UK. You should have lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years. As the course is full time, you must be able to commit Monday - Friday from 09:30-17:30 for 4 weeks. Access to own laptop / pc and internet connection. You should live in or around Manchester, UK.

The role: As a Cyber Security Trainee, your day to day duties will involve working alongside experienced professionals in the field to mitigate risks and protect the information assets of the organisation. You will gain exposure to various areas of cyber security including network security, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response as well as assisting with the implementation of security policies. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to participate in team meetings and training sessions, where you can sharpen your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends and best practices.

Summary: If you are looking to enter the digital industry but do not have the experience, skills or qualifications, but are a) analytical with a good attention to detail, b) willing to work hard to pursue a new career in the digital sector, and c) are a quick learner, then you could be just the person they are looking for.
