We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor to support students in English and Maths, providing targeted intervention, academic mentoring and encouragement. The successful candidate will help remove barriers to learning, improve confidence and engagement, and support students in achieving stronger outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and make progress in English, Maths, and across the curriculum.
  • Support pupils with SEND, social, emotional, and behavioural needs by implementing personalised learning and support plans, promoting inclusion and independence.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to deliver learning activities, monitor pupil progress, and provide timely feedback on achievement, engagement, and behaviour.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues, encouraging positive behaviour, wellbeing, and active participation in school life.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, using appropriate resources and technology to enhance learning and support pupil development.

Pay range:

SCP 8-13 £24,370.82 - £26,406.05 (FTE: £27,709.00 - £30,023.00)

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualificationsand Skills

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade C or equivalent
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a schoolsetting and with the appropriate age range
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
