We are looking to appoint a Deputy SENCO who will support the strategic development of SEND provision, work closely with students, families and staff, and help ensure that all pupils with additional needs receive high-quality support to achieve their full potential.
Keyresponsibilities:
- Support the SENCO in leading and coordinating provision for students with SEND, ensuring barriers to learning are identified and effectively addressed.
- Lead, monitor and evaluate targeted intervention programmes to improve outcomes, progress and wellbeing for students with additional needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice and provide guidance on effective SEND strategies and the graduated approach to support.
- Maintain accurate SEND records, provision maps and student data, using assessment information to inform interventions and monitor impact.
- Build positive relationships with students, families and external agencies, contributing to reviews, meetings and multi-agency support plans to ensure every student receives the support they need.
Pay range:
SCP 22-27 £31,402.28 - £35,614.99 (FTE: £34,811.00 - £39,481.00)
37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Qualificationsand Skills:
- GCSE Grade 5-9 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) standards or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, alongside a sound understanding of how children learn and strategies to support pupils with additional needs.
- Experience of delivering effective interventions, working with external agencies and building successful partnerships with parents, carers and school staff.
- Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret student data, maintain accurate records and prioritise workloads effectively.
