Are you an organised, proactive and people-focused administrator looking to make a real difference in education? The Oldham Academy North is seeking an exceptional Pastoral Administrator to play a key role in supporting our pastoral, inclusion and student welfare services.
As the academy's lead administrator for admissions, you will coordinate the full admissions process, support attendance and behaviour systems, manage Free School Meals administration, and work closely with students, families and staff to ensure every young person receives the support they need to thrive. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, producing reports, supporting pastoral interventions and helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all pupil admissions processes, including in-year admissions, student leavers, enquiries, inductions and transition arrangements.
- Provide administrative support for pastoral, inclusion, behaviour and safeguarding processes, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Support attendance monitoring and intervention processes, including record keeping, reporting and communication with families and external agencies.
- Administer Free School Meals applications, eligibility checks and associated data, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Produce reports, maintain management information systems and provide professional administrative support to students, families and academy staff
SCP16-20 - £28,437.98 - £30,375.64 - FTE: £31,525.00 - £33,675.00
37 hours per week 40 weeks per year
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including English and Mathematics.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience working in an administrative role, maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards
