We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Thrive Teaching Assistant to support the emotional wellbeing and development of our pupils. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and young people who require additional social and emotional support, helping them to build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships. As part of a nurturing and specialist environment, you will play a key role in delivering Thrive-based interventions that enable every pupil to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver Thrive-informed interventions to support pupils’ social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with identified pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to build resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel supported, valued, and ready to learn.
  • Assess and monitor pupils’ emotional development using Thrive approaches, under the guidance of the Thrive Practitioner/lead.
  • Support the implementation of individual support plans and contribute to reviewing pupil progress.

Pay range: NJC 8 - 13 - £23,592.34 - £25,562.47 FTE - £26,824.00 - £29,064.00, 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics, at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Thrive Practitioner training or experience (desirable), or a willingness to undertake Thrive training.
  • Strong understanding of social and emotional development and the ability to support pupils with varying wellbeing needs.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils.
  • Ability to support emotional regulation, behaviour, and positive engagement in learning.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
