Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and LAC Coordinator Position within E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy. The role is a key safeguarding and pastoral position, supporting the safeguarding lead, promoting the wellbeing of students and championing the progress of looked‑after and previously looked‑after children.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns when the DSL is unavailable.
- Support the DSL in making referrals to Children’s Social Care, Early Help or other agencies.
- Work directly with vulnerable students to provide early intervention and pastoral support.
- Monitor academic progress and attainment of LAC students.
- Lead the creation, review and quality assurance of Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
- Level 3 Safeguarding Training (DSL/DDSL level).
- Ability to manage high volumes of confidential information.
- Understanding of systems such as Early Help, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP).
- Ability to act as a strong advocate for vulnerable and LAC students.
- Manage emotionally demanding work.
