About the Role
We are seeking a Teacher of Physical Education – ECT with a part‑time teaching commitment, plus an additional two days per week as a Cover Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Teacher of PE
- Have high expectations of learners to ensure they achieve their full educational potential.
- Set challenging teaching and learning objectives that are relevant to all students in your classes.
- Select and prepare a range of resources that take into account all students’ learning needs, languages and cultural backgrounds.
- Apply a range of teaching strategies to deliver learning objectives and incorporate inclusive strategies that meet the needs of all learners.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and manage the work of support staff to enhance students’ learning.
- Cover Supervisor
- Supervise pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy’s policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
- Establish productive working relationships with students, promote positive values and attitudes, and set high expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement, and provide feedback/reports as required.
- Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all students in activities.
- Use ICT effectively to support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independent use.
Pay Range
Teacher of PE – M1 £19,749.60 (FTE: £32,916.00), 19.5 hours per week. Cover Supervisor – SCP 6‑12 £9,266.73 – £10,197.01 (FTE: £25,989.00 – £28,598.00), 15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status or recognised equivalent.
- Degree in subject specialism.
- Ability to teach ‘good or outstanding’ lessons.
- Effective classroom management.
