Are you passionate about supporting students who speak English as an Additional Language to thrive? Parkwood E-ACT Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and driven EAL Lead to champion inclusion, language development and student success across the academy. This is an exciting opportunity open to both aspiring educators (including unqualified teachers) and experienced support staff ready to take the next step in their career.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the academy’s EAL provision
- Support EAL students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential
- Work closely with teachers to adapt resources and strategies for language learners
- Track progress and implement targeted interventions
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
Qualifications and Skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- HLTA Qualification
- Degree in a relevant subject
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Ability to support students with varying levels of English proficiency
- Commitment to inclusion, equality, and safeguarding
Pay range: UNQ1-6 - £22,601 - £35,259.00 - 32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Support - SCP20-26 - £28,669.96 - £32,788.78 - FTE: £32,597.00 - £37,280.00 - 37 hours, 39 weeks per year
