We are seeking a skilled Science Technician to support practical lessons, prepare equipment, and maintain laboratory resources to safety standards. You will assist teaching staff, manage stock, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a daily basis
  • Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions
  • Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations
  • Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required
  • Construct and modify apparatus as required, at the request of teachers in the faculty

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH
  • Experience of working within a Science department
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and codes of practices
