We are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support teaching staff and manage classrooms during teacher absence. You will supervise pre-set work, maintain positive behaviour, and ensure a safe learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy’s policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations.
  • Monitoring and evaluating students’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement and providing feedback/reports as required.
  • Encouraging students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independent use.

Pay and Working Hours

Pay range: NJC 17 - 21 £23,966.29 - £25,604.89 (FTE: 31,022 - £33,143) 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Permanent

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent.
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience supervising children in a school setting.
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs.
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group.
