As a key member of the leadership team, you will lead and develop a passionate team of English teachers, ensuring high-quality delivery of an engaging and ambitious curriculum. Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and strong student outcomes.
- Develop, implement, and monitor an engaging and inclusive English curriculum aligned with academy priorities.
- Track and evaluate pupil progress, using data to drive improvement and targeted intervention strategies.
- Support, coach, and develop staff through performance management and continuous professional development.
- Lead initiatives to raise attainment and promote literacy across the school in line with national and academy strategies.
Pay range: M1 - U3 (Inner London) £40,317.00 - £62,496.00
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve high performance.
- Experience of using assessment data to monitor progress and raise student attainment.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
