We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Europe Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives across the European defense markets. This pivotal role will expand our global footprint by identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering high-level partnerships with European governments and defense contractors, and navigating complex geopolitical and regulatory landscapes. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in European international defense markets, a robust network of industry and government contacts, and a strong grasp of export controls and compliance regulations.

Required Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential new European markets for defense products and services.
  • Analyze geopolitical dynamics and regulatory environments to develop targeted market entry strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive European business development plans aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within European governments, military officials, and defense industry partners.
  • Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and distribution agreements with international companies.
  • Participate in European defense conferences and exhibitions to build brand awareness and network with potential clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by tailoring solutions to European defense requirements.
  • Lead the development and submission of complex international proposals, including pricing strategies and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct in-depth presentations and demonstrations of defense capabilities to potential clients.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all international export control regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Manage necessary licensing processes for export of defense technologies and products.
  • Stay updated on evolving export control laws and regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of the European defense industry, including key players, market trends, and geopolitical considerations.
  • Proven track record of success in European business development within the defense sector.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills with senior government officials and business leaders.
  • Expertise in export control regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages preferred.
  • Experience in technical writing and proposal writing.

  • Must be capable of working non-standard work hours as required, including evenings and weekends.

Travel Requirements

Must be capable of traveling within Europe and occasionally flying to the U.S. for company meetings.

Physical Demands

Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs. May perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting, moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

Person will work from their residence.

Other Requirements

Essential requirement: legal right to work in the United States and eligibility to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Salary

$120,000–$190,000 annually. Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and other factors. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
