The Sleeping Beauty apprenticeship is perfect for anyone with little or no experience in beauty therapy. It will provide the foundation you need to kick-start a successful career in the beauty industry!
This apprenticeship is available for any learner above the age of 16 and can generally take 15-18 months to complete. There are no entry requirements for the apprenticeship, however all learners must have completed Functional Skills (English & Maths) modules to a National 4 equivalent to complete the program.
During your apprenticeship you will be assessed on your knowledge and understanding of the seven mandatory units. This assessment will be completed by your assessor to the requirements of SQA and assessments will take place in the salon.
There are seven mandatory units and to be awarded the Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Professionals (Beauty Therapist) you must achieve in all these plus one of the optional units:
- Carry out Waxing Service
- Provide Manicure Service
- Provide Pedicure Service
- Provide Facial Skin Care Treatment
- Enhance the Appearance of Eyelashes
- Enhance the Appearance of Eyebrows
- Provide Make-up Services
- Develop and Maintain your Effectiveness at Work
