Modern Apprenticeship – Multi-skilled Engineer

Location: Alness

Working Hours: Full time on campus in first year, then work-based.

Salary: £8.75 per hour plus benefits in 1st year.

Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. (SEUK-CL) is currently looking for 2 enthusiastic individuals to join our project and become part of our future as we strive to make a significant contribution towards the realisation of the UK Net Zero Target and become a centre of excellence for renewable energy and technologies.

We are seeking committed individuals who are eager to learn new skills and experience and embrace the culture of working for a large Japanese organisation.

Course Content

This course consists of work-based training and provides the dual benefit of students gaining a nationally recognised qualification while being paid as they work. Engineering is a fast moving and diverse industry with many occupational routes. Each discipline is tailored to suit company needs while training the individual to a high competency level. Over the course of the apprenticeship you will work to achieve the SVQ 3 qualification at SCQF level 6/7.

What You Need

It is recommended that applicants have Standard Grade at 4 or above, or Intermediate 1, or National 5 passes in English, Maths, a Science subject and Craft/Design Technology.
