Join DYW (Developing the Young Workforce) Moray as a Trainee Transport Planner, McPherson Aberlour – Aberlour. We are recruiting to support our work in Moray.
This is an opportunity for a new career. You will need to have demonstrated that you can work successfully in a fast-paced environment and can deal with conflicting demands on your time. The ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, is an essential skill.
We will invest time and resources to train you to become a fully trained planner over a 24-month period.
Job Description
- Effective planning and utilization of drivers for deliveries throughout Scotland and England within a busy Traffic Department.
- Planning daily workload for a large fleet of vehicles.
- Dealing with queries by telephone and email from our customers at various sites.
- Ensure driver’s hours and working time directive regulations and related legislation are adhered to.
- Plan collections and deliveries to agreed movement schedules.
- Responsible for meeting all Company health and safety standards.
Essential Qualities Required
- Experience in a busy and demanding environment.
- Be able to work effectively in a close team.
- Have the ability to work alone as well as within the team.
- Have good problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Be able to work under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
- Be highly motivated.
- Be PC literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress.
- Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns.
Salary range: From £27,000 per year, Permanent, Full-time, Location: Aberlour.
