Role Overview
This role offers an entry point into transport planning. You will need to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage conflicting demands, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
We will invest in your development, training you to become a fully qualified planner over 24 months.
Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise driver utilisation for deliveries throughout Scotland and England.
- Plan daily workload for a large fleet of vehicles.
- Respond to queries by telephone and email from customers at various sites.
- Ensure compliance with driver’s hours, working time directive regulations, and related legislation.
- Plan collections and deliveries to meet agreed movement schedules.
- Adhere to company health and safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in a busy and demanding environment.
- Effective teamwork and ability to work independently.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable, particularly during peak periods.
- Excellent communication at all levels within the business.
- Highly motivated.
- PC literacy in Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Drive and desire to progress.
- Flexibility in approach to work and shift patterns.
