We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Outsourced Procurement Senior Costing Manager to join our Global Outsourced Procurement team, accountable for commercial cost management, aspects relating to Tier 1 suppliers. This role will be responsible for providing expert technical assurance and advice to ensure effective functioning of supplier relationships, acting as a strategic partner to the business to deliver objectives to a specified function or small region of Dyson.
About the role
The Outsourced Procurement Senior Costing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cost analysis, commercial cost strategy, and financial planning within the organisation. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of financial management principles.
Responsibilities
- Cost Control: Conduct thorough analysis of costs, including Value added manufacturing cost, inbound logistics, labour, moulding and painting, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities; Accountable for RFQ activities with tier 1 suppliers at the earlier stage of the product development process and cost maintenance along the development stage; Accountable for Tier 1 Supplier billing accuracy based on agreed structure with each supplier post production; Accountable for tier 1 supplier claims tracking and reporting; Develop and implement effective cost control measures, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and financial objectives; Monitor and evaluate cost performance against established benchmarks and provide regular reports to senior management; Responsible for new project award allocation and ensuring cost is meeting target; Collaborate with the global outsourced procurement team to develop and implement strategic plans and cost reduction plan; Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on commercial and financial aspects of business proposals and cost negotiations; Define should cost for tier 1 related cost elements.
- Financial Planning and Budgeting: Assist in the development and implementation of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives; Conduct financial forecasting and modelling to support business decision-making and strategic planning; Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, to gather and analyse data, ensuring accurate cost billing and reporting; Act as a liaison between Commercial and other functions, providing financial expertise and guidance on commercial cost-related matters; Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and clients, to ensure effective cost management and collaboration; Provide leadership and guidance to a team of cost analysts and financial professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance; Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's skills and knowledge in cost analysis, commercial strategy, and financial planning.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience in cost analysis, commercial strategy, or financial planning roles, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and cost management techniques.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
