About The Role

As the GB&I Trainer, you will find unique ways to demonstrate our full product range to our team of Dyson experts and retailer staff. You will run internal/external training sessions and work with multiple stakeholders on tight and reactive deadlines. You will be able to understand the effectiveness of your training by evaluating and analysis. Working together with our Retailers to deliver joint business training plans, you will also ensure that our technology is understood and demonstrated in the best way for our customers across multiple business functions. You will predominantly focus on our Floorcare, Environmental care and audio range of products but be prepared to train on our beauty range alongside this where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Devise and deliver compelling virtual and face‑to‑face training sessions on a regular basis for our experts and stylists; tailoring as required.
  • Devise training strategies to drive store staff advocacy by using all means of communication.
  • Design and deliver training for retailer store staff, to increase their product knowledge, awareness of the brand and help them deliver the ‘why Dyson’ message.
  • Visit retailers and Dyson stores to support and ascertain “best in class” training.
  • Liaise with Marketing and the retailer to produce materials for store staff to be used in conjunction with training sessions and ways of selling to drive advocacy for all communication methods.
  • Deliver focused training sessions in line with the GB&I activity to support Dyson in store plans and provide tools to enable excellent customer experiences (using mystery shopping data).
  • Build relationships at retailer head offices to develop joint training plans and strive to lead category projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support the Area Managers, Store Managers and wider team in education of soft selling skills and NPD, core product information while supporting the development and knowledge of all Dyson products.
  • Lead sessions at the monthly team meeting to develop knowledge of product information to ascertain team feedback / ‘tools for the job’ needed to support with training.
  • Coordinate NPD launches, ensuring tools are provided for the retail team, being the subject expert in all new products.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions on new and existing products to ensure knowledge, engagement and enthusiasm is transferred to our retailer’s store staff.
  • Measure on a regular basis.
  • Conduct retail visits with the Area Retail Managers and Store Managers and deliver constructive feedback to ensure a high level of knowledge is retained and transferred to the consumer/buyer and use mystery shop reports to guide future training sessions.
  • Ability to work as a training team to train on other product categories when needed.
  • Maintain communication strategies for all Retail Teams.
  • Assist in creation of ongoing communication vehicles including newsletters, feedback surveys and recognition programs.
  • Implement and drive selling techniques to separate Dyson from others.
  • Support and lead within all required sales meetings and conferences.
  • Develop events and information to make sure Dyson wins in store and track completion of training modules.
  • Develop customised training for different retail environments and assisted levels.
  • Develop and conduct class leading induction programs for the Expert team/stylists.

Work Cross‑functionally Across Multiple Functions

Supporting the category team where needed to deliver best‑in‑class shots/events and assets to support new launches and day‑to‑day running of the category. Supporting the requirements of the wider Retail Team including training and conference presentations. Support the National Accounts team with retailer sell‑in meetings, head office events and future strategy regarding the evolution of Dyson Beauty. Support the Global Team with recommendations on behalf of the Market as well as support with expertise when required.

About You

  • Experience in working with and understanding of retailers (essential).
  • Relevant qualification or experience in training delivery (essential).
  • Drive, motivation and enthusiasm to motivate your audience in a variety of training situations.
  • Ability to flex your style depending on your audience and ability to train in a variety of locations; in a stock room, on the shop floor, in a meeting room, on stage at a conference.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to travel across the country and to Ireland to attend meetings and training events including frequent overnight trips.
  • Training design and delivery in organisations where engagement of multiple stakeholders is required.
  • Fluency verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent organisational, planning skills and punctuality.
  • Presentation skills – able to present confidently in front of varied audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced and challenging environment.
  • Team player leading by example.
  • Adaptable/flexible – able to multi‑task.
