About The Role
- Day-to-day responsibility for the following areas of Product Litigation activity:
- Leading technical investigations and providing technical expertise and opinions on the veracity of competitor advertising claims, and to support the assessment of potential IP infringement.
- Coordinating product performance testing and obtaining technical opinions to meet litigation needs.
- Providing technical/subject expertise to support the legal response to competitor activity.
- Accountabilities Operational
- Lead and manage competitor product testing and technical investigations to inform assessment of product performance and potential IP infringements – design, instruct, coordinate, track and record internal and external testing and investigations of competitor products.
- Act as a trusted advisor on technical matters – contextualise and provide clear views to support stakeholders to understand test results, technical aspects of competitor product performance, technical standards, and technical aspects of opponents’ potential counter-arguments.
- Provide written and/or oral technical evidence for court or administrative proceedings, where appropriate.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including with internal and external technical experts and testing teams, Business Intelligence, Claims and Product Regulatory teams.
- Deliver regular, impactful reports, presenting clear updates on product testing and investigations.
- Play an active role in Dyson’s Product Litigation team, sharing insights and developing best practices for product testing in a world-leading technology environment.
- Lead a learning and development programme by facilitating the delivery of technical training on key topics to relevant members of the Global Litigation team.
- Report operational progress directly to the Head of Product Litigation, ensuring key issues, achievements and priorities are communicated with transparency.

About You
You are technically rigorous and detail-oriented engineer with at least 3 years’ experience, ideally across a range of product categories relevant to Dyson.
You are comfortable engaging with and presenting complex technical issues to senior stakeholders, adapting your communication style to suit both technical and non-technical audiences.
While you thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working towards shared objectives, you are equally confident operating independently.
You take ownership of your work, manage your priorities effectively, and drive tasks through to completion with minimal oversight.

- Strong analytical and technical acumen: You have experience analysing products and their performance at a detailed level, ideally in a commercial or regulated environment, enabling you to understand and challenge technical discussions and product performance claims.
- Interest in product performance standards: You will want to understanding the whys and wherefores of the myriad of international standards which impact the basis on which Dyson and its competitors make product performance claims.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on evidence-based reasoning and intellectual rigour.

- Practical litigation experience is a plus, whether from exposure to working with legal teams on technical aspects of product disputes, forensic analysis or giving evidence.
