We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Livestock Assistant to support our livestock operations during a period of transition. This role will initially focus on supporting the phased exit of the sheep enterprise, before transitioning into a core role within our cattle operation (Lincs Cattle). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a changing environment and is keen to develop their skills across different livestock systems. Flexibility, a proactive mindset, and a willingness to learn new husbandry approaches will be essential.

Requirements
  • Sheep Enterprise (Initial Focus)
    • Support the day-to-day management and welfare of the sheep flock during the wind-down period
    • Assist with handling, movement, and health treatments
    • Maintain high welfare and biosecurity standards throughout the exit phase
    • Work alongside the wider team to ensure a smooth and efficient transition out of sheep production
  • Transition to Cattle (Future Focus)
    • Progress into supporting cattle husbandry operations as the business focus shifts
    • Assist with feeding, health checks, handling, and general care of cattle
    • Develop knowledge of cattle systems, welfare standards, and performance monitoring
    • Contribute to the ongoing success and development of the Lincs Cattle enterprise
Skills & Experience
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely (training provided where required)
  • Maintain accurate records of livestock and farm activities
  • Ensure high standards of health & safety are always followed
  • Work collaboratively within the wider farming team
  • Support other farm activities as required, demonstrating flexibility across the business
