We are a team of engineers experienced both in the design and manufacture of driving simulators, as well as their use in vehicle development.

We develop, deliver and support outstanding, ground-breaking simulators and motion generators that support the engineering that leads to winning performance on the track.

Job Purpose

The Senior Build Engineer plays a key technical role in the assembly, integration, and testing of advanced motion simulator systems.

They apply deep technical expertise to ensure high-quality builds, resolve complex integration issues, and support the development of improved build methods and standards.

Operating as a technical specialist within the build team, this role provides mentorship and support to less experienced engineers while maintaining personal accountability for delivering technically excellent, safe, and reliable builds.

The senior build engineer will carry out Installs and Maintenances activities at customer sites both in the UK and Internationally, including periods of working away from home.

They may at times be assigned as an on-site lead.

• Role & Responsibilities
• Lead by example in build quality, precision, and adherence to standards. Acting as a point of technical escalation for all build engineers for allocated activities in the bay.
• Operates with a high degree of autonomy, maintaining exceptional quality and precision in all tasks with minimal oversight.

Leading small build packages or modules independently.

Responsible for completion of build evidence in real time (test runs).

• Perform detailed fault diagnosis and root cause analysis during builds and testing.
• Support prototype, R&D, and new product builds, contributing to design-for-assembly feedback.
• Act as a technical reference point within the build team, supporting Build Engineers.
• Provide informal coaching, training, and oversight on complex assemblies or new techniques.
• Assist the Build Team Lead in reviewing build documentation and work instructions for accuracy and clarity.
• Communicate in a timely manner and clearly about progress, issues, and material/tooling needs.
• Team Management
• Lead, coach, and mentor build engineers to ensure high levels of performance, engagement, and capability.
• Identify and recommend improvements to build processes, tooling, or assembly methods.
• Support validation of new assembly techniques or process trials.
• Participate in lessons-learned and post-build review sessions.
• Health & Safety and Quality
• Ensure all work meets internal quality standards and complies with build documentation, test procedures, and safety requirements.
• Maintain safe working environments and ensure appropriate documentation and adherence to risk assessments.
• Ensure correct use and maintenance of tools, jigs, and equipment.
• Complete build records, test data, and inspection reports accurately.
• Identify and report any quality or build issues promptly to the sub-team lead of next highest authority.
• Knowledge and Qualifications
• Experience in manufacturing wiring looms, soldering, crimping or panel/machinery builds
• NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety and regulatory compliance
• Ability to read electrical schematics and understand bill of materials
• Proficiency in using test equipment such as multi-meters, insulation resistance testers, earth continuity testers and more
• Demonstrate strong initiative and the ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team
• IPC training
• Current 18th Edition wiring regulations (BS7671)
• Previous leadership or senior experience
