The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our engineering team. The role involves maintaining, installing and improving electrical systems across a busy industrial site, ensuring plant, equipment and facilities operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulations. You will play a key part in supporting production, responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and contributing to site improvement projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain safe operation of plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with electrical safety regulations and site procedures.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with statutory requirements, relevant standards and internal compliance expectations.
- Install, maintain and upgrade site lighting systems, including energy efficiency improvements where required.
- Complete mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations in support of production, facilities and improvement projects.
- Test, inspect and certify electrical installations (Where Qualified), ensuring accurate maintenance and compliance records are maintained.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, site upgrades and modifications.
- Work safely at all times, adhering to health and safety policies and contributing to a positive safety culture.
Skills, Experience & Competencies
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical (M&E) installations.
- Experience with lighting installations, upgrades and energy efficiency projects.
- Familiarity with planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Strong safety-focused mindset with consistent adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Reliable and accountable, taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
- Good communication skills, able to liaise effectively with production teams, maintenance colleagues and contractors.
- Team-focused, while also capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise breakdowns, maintenance activities and project work.
- High attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship, compliance and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications
Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent recognised electrical qualification). City & Guilds 2382 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
Desirable: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
