Our Maidenhead office serves as the EMEA HQ and Shared Service Centre for our Finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will support 25 legal entities and work closely with the General Accounting team, as well as other finance functions including Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. This is a highly developmental role, ideal for an ambitious and motivated individual looking to build a career in finance. You will gain broad exposure to EMEA accounting processes, develop technical skills, and play an active role in improving how we work. We operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, ownership, and personal development. This is a hybrid position, with 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday and Thursday).

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the banking reconciliation process end-to-end, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the fixed asset process, including additions, disposals, and maintenance of registers.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journals (prepayments, T&E, leases) and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet reports, working with stakeholders to understand drivers and movements.
  • Contribute to the cash flow process, including inputs and quarter-end forecasting.
  • Support the team with statutory audit deliverables across multiple EMEA entities.
  • Work collaboratively across the Shared Services team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and control.
  • Provide support on ad hoc tasks across the General Accounting team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A finance qualification is not essential, but candidates should be studying towards or interested in studying AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACT, or equivalent (study support can be provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, "can do" attitude with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
  • Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Good analytical skills with an interest in understanding financial data.
  • Proficient in Excel.
