Dynamite Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established business based in the Southampton area. Due to continued growth, our client is looking for a practical, hands-on Mechanical / Electrical Tester & Warehouse Operative to join their busy team.
This is a varied role that combines warehouse operations, equipment testing and light engineering modifications. You'll play a key role in ensuring all equipment is tested, prepared, modified where required, and ready for dispatch to the highest standards.
This position would suit someone with experience within engineering, electrical manufacturing, technical assembly, maintenance, or a similar environment. You'll be comfortable testing mechanical and electrical equipment before it is supplied to customers, while also supporting day-to-day warehouse activities.
Warehouse Operative Duties- Safely load and unload deliveries
- Operate a forklift truck (if licensed)
- Receive, unpack and inspect incoming stock
- Organise and maintain warehouse storage areas
- Pick, prepare and package customer orders
- Repackage equipment to ensure safe transportation
- Test mechanical and electrical equipment in line with company procedures
- Record, monitor and report test results accurately
- Apply product branding and labelling in accordance with company guidelines
- Ensure all equipment is fully prepared and ready for dispatch
- Carry out minor equipment modifications, including the installation of higher-pressure pumps and bypasses
- Identify and help resolve technical issues where required
- Provide occasional support to the on-site service team
- Experience working with high-voltage equipment (24VAC, 230V and 400V) is essential
- Previous experience within an engineering, electrical, manufacturing or technical environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Good communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- Experience working with chillers, cooling equipment or similar systems
- Previous equipment testing experience
- Basic mechanical and plumbing knowledge
- Forklift licence (beneficial but not essential)
